Transfer2 Photo Books - Your memories in a REAL Book - in 3 Easy Steps!

Here's how easy it is to design your own Photo Book using the Software CD you received at the Transfer2 dealer you visited.

Firstly you need to install the Software CD into your PC – it will automatically begin installing itself – you then act on the Wizard prompts, in which you need to accept the terms and conditions of the Photobook software etc., the Software will then run and install itself on your desktop – look out for a black camera icon titled ‘Creative Images’.

If the Software fails to auto run find your CD Drive in Windows Explorer and double click on ImageDeskTransfer2.exe

You will be invited to 'Continue Saved Album' or ' Create New Album'
  • Click on Create new Album
  • The Software automatically shows all the various folders and drives on your PC so you can find your photos. It then displays them in the boxes in the centre of the screen. To select a photo for inclusion in your Photobook simply click the photo and you will see that the calculator bottom left of the screen will show that you have selected 1 photo. You can select all your images by clicking on the ‘All Pictures’ tab or ‘Clear’ pictures.
  • Tip - Once you begin designing your photobook you cannot go back and add more photos so make sure that all the photos you might want to include are all loaded at the beginning!
Click on 'next' to move to the book style selection page.

  • To see the 6 Book styles click on the plus - + - icon to the left of the Album icon.
  • Select the style and size you require, there are two styles of Photobook – Traditional and Contemporary, and three sizes - 8 by 6 inches, 8 by 8 inches and 12 by 8 inches.
  • Tip - Traditional adds white borders around your photos ...like a more traditional Photo Album, whereas Contemporary allows you to design edge to edge photos in a more Contemporary way! Press Next.
  • Wait while your images are copied to the album software
  • If you want the software to layout your photos click on “Adjust template to fit number of pictures”, alternatively to do your own placing of photos click on “Use standard template” –
  • Tip - most people select "Use standard template".
  • If you selected “Adjust template to fit number of pictures”; you then need to confirm which photos to use or click “Add All” and click continue. If you don’t like the way the software does it you can change the photos around. You can now go to step 2.
  • If you selected “Use Standard Template” you have a further two options. “Automatic fill in” which lays your photos out in date order or “Drag and drop each image” where you choose which photo goes where. If you don’t like the way the software does it you can change the photos around.
  • Tip - most people select "Drag and drop each image”

Designing Your Photo Book Album.

You are prompted to give the project a name – e.g. "Holiday 2007" do this and click "Continue"

  • On the left of the sheet your photos are displayed, the previews of the books pages and information about the book you are designing. Your photos can be displayed in a variety of orders using the “Sort by” control at the top of the Pictures area.
  •  The first page you are presented with is entitled 'Lid' - this is the 'Cover' - the front and back cover of your Photobook - when calculating how many pages you are making your Photobook the 'Lid' or 'Cover' is 2 pages - then each 'Page' is 2 pages - just like when you read a magazine. Once you have designed the 'Lid' or 'Cover' you will see that the subsequent Pages are listed as Page 1 (1 & 2) etc.
  • On the right of the screen are tools that affect the whole page, Colour and Textures for the backgrounds, click on the desired texture/colour. The background can also be a photo, by dragging the photo to the background of the page. Page Layouts are different options for the main pages of the book.
  • Tip -  You are in control of everything! If you do not like the suggested photo and text layout of any page you can change it - simply right click on your mouse then pick 'delete' and you can delete one or all of the suggestions on each page.
  • You can add photos simply by clicking 'Add Frame' - once for each photo.
  • To move through your book use the Next and Previous page buttons.
  • Once you have laid out all your pages move to the Preview screen by clicking the "Preview" button.
  • If you have not created the minimum number of pages required you will not be able to move to the preview page, go back and create additional pages.
  • If you are happy with the preview you can then select the number of copies you require and confirm the order. This will then generate the pages, and may take a few moments.
  • If you are not ready to complete the order but wish to save the book press cancel and then yes to the message asking to keep a copy. You can then come back to the book at a later time to complete the order.
Placing An Order

  • Once you have confirmed your order and the generation stage is complete you have the option to add more book designs to the order. This takes you back to create a new book.
  • Alternatively you are able to "Finish order".
  • Once you have accepted the Terms of Use you need to enter your details – you only need to fill in the lines asterisked and only for the first order you place -  then click next.
  • You will then be presented with an order screen, the price is shown as Zero – this (unfortunately!) is NOT the price. The price you pay is as per the store’s Price List which is determined by the Size of Photobook you have designed and the number of Pages – 12 minimum, up to 20 or up to 30 Pages. Why not phone the store and get them to price the book exactly once you know what size and how many pages you have designed, so that you know the exact cost before finishing the order.
  • To write the order to a CD or Memory stick, click "Finish". Click "Accept" on the data transfer prompt then click on "Burn your order in a CD/DVD for delivering to your usual shop". Note that for a CD, you will need a blank disc to-hand before continuing.
  • Take the memory stick or CD back to the store for your Photobook to be produced.
